The New Jersey Association for Biomedical Research and Merck & Co., hosted an industry-wide Enrichment Extravaganza. The event was held on May 8, 2008 and featured discussions with Dr. Joseph Garner, Purdue University, Dr. Temple Grandin, Colorado State University, Dr. Diana Reiss, Hunter College and Dr. Steven Schapiro, University of Texas, recognized experts in the fields of enrichment and animal behavior.
The program also included an enrichment competition event, giving participants the opportunity to showcase their talents and creativity. Teams of two to four participants were provided supplies to design their own enrichment devices for laboratory animals. The competition gave everyone involved a chance to practice for the main event at the TriBranch Symposium in Atlantic City.
