If Animals Ruled the World

by Austin Emery, Grade 4
Memorial School, Cinnaminson

If animals ruled the world
What a crazy world this would be,
Lions and monkeys, whales and camels
Would rule the world from land and sea.

The monkeys would rule the trees
The lions and tigers would rule the land,
The sharks and whales would rule the sea
And the camels would rule the sand.

All the laws would change completely
And nothing would be the same,
The world's gone crazy, whacked and wild
Like hanging birds on window panes.

Traffic would stop dead in its tracks
Making it difficult to get to work and school,
Wait a minute, let's think about this
No work, no school... this is going to be cool.

If animals ruled the world
What a WONDERFUL world this would be,
Playing all day, eating all night
Finally, it's the land of the free.
