My Pug Mike

by Daniel Cornish, Grade 3
Cedar Creek Elementary, Lanoka Harbor

On my birthday he arrived,
Oh what a surprise
A black wrinkly face
And big brown eyes.

With a corkscrew tail
And pointy ears
He has become a part of our family
Over the past three years.

He likes to play tug of war,
Eats lots of toys and rolls on the floor.
Nibbling is what he does best
And sleeping is his sport.
He likes to snuggle on my bed
Turning the pillows into his fort.

This is my best friend,
My pug Mike.
