Adam Hatzikyriakou - Grade 7 Lewis Cole Middle School, Fort Lee: Honorable Mention - Grades 4-6I Wish I Were A BirdBy Adam HatzikyriakouLewis Cole Middle School, Fort Lee I wish I were a bird, that would sing beautiful little songs. That would fly gracefully in the sky And see everything as if they were flies. A bird that would fly as fast as the wind And feel the air hitting its wings. If only I was a bird. I wish I were a bird, A dauntless little bird. That would spot a prey from a distance And in a second scoop down and just take it away. If only I was a bird. I wish I were a bird, And elegant little bird. That would catch everyone's eye And make them point to me in the beautiful sky. A bird that would have feathers the color of the rainbow And blue eyes that would be mistaken as the sky. If only I were a bird. I wish I were a bird, But I think that is a little too much to expect. However, I'll have my hopes high And wait for the day when I become a bird. © 1999-2005 New Jersey Association for Biomedical Research 1477 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ 07083 Ph: (908) 964-9449 Fax: (908) 964-9144 info@njabr.org |
