Bridget Cardenas - Grade 4 Memorial School, Cinnaminson: Honorable Mention - Grades 4-6

The Swift and Free

By Bridget Cardenas - Grade 4
Memorial School, Cinnaminson

The bald eagle
As swift and strong
As the waterfall flows.

As brave
And valiant as knights
In shining armor.

As intelligent and clever
As a fox
In the middle of moonlight.

So beautiful
They glisten in the sun.

As sleek and shiny
As the water that trickles
Down a waterfall.

The most daring creature
I have ever seen.
As keen and agile
As a mustang in the west.

So skilled and energetic
While soaring through the sky.

As alert and sharp-eyed
As a hawk in the sky.
What a wonderful thing!

I'm sure now, you'll want to be
An eagle, just like me!
