Eyes of the World

By April Cutrofello
Waldwick Middle School

I am the eyes ,
The eyes of the World,
Sitting, staring, glaring
At passing creatures,
So small, so delicate, so unaware of me and
My eyes.

All day I observe everything, yes
Every--single-thing imaginable to mind,
From the first fallen leaf
Of autumn,
To the few dew drops
Of jewelry to the flower buds.

When the sun burns orange
And yellow and white,
I simply thank it
For giving me light to
Watch, watch, watch
Every passer-by.

Hunters, oh, they come and go,
Yet, I fear them not,
For they are not cunning enough for me,
As I, the Eagle, am very cunning.
Watch me ruffle my feathers, and show off my
Broadness, my braveness, as I
Watch, watch, watch the world.
