If Animals Ruled the World

By Cayla Masters
Laurel Springs School

If animals ruled the world,
Humans would live in zoos.
If animals ruled the world,
Our lives would be brand new.

If animals ruled the world,
Monkeys would deliver our mail.
If animals ruled the world,
Zebras would learn to sail.

If animals ruled the world,
Pandas would teach.
If animals ruled the world,
Whales would be lifeguards at the beach.

If animals ruled the world,
Pigs would work at the library.
If animals ruled the world,
Birds would replace the tooth fairy.

If animals ruled the world,
Geese would be plumbers.
If animals ruled the world,
Ducks would drive hummers.

If animals ruled the world,
A squirrel would be President of the United States.
Why would this be great for our fate?

Having animals rule the world is as bad as it gets,
Why, you ask?
Cause we're the pets!

"Why I Love General Tsao"
By Justin Simmons
Grade 4, Hatchery Hill School

Meet my cuddly guinea pig
His name is General Tsao
He likes to nibble Mom's fingers
When she gives him chow.

He's energetic and young
He's excitable and fun
He plays with his toys
Like a soccer ball and makes a lot of noise
All of this he enjoys.

When I come home from school
I look forward to seeing him each day
I brush him and feed him
He really likes his hay.

I love my General Tsao
I know that you would too
He's my favorite pet
Who doesn't belong in a zoo.
