My Dog Charlie

By Evan Hale
Grade 3, Point Road School

My dog Charlie is a cute little puppy,
Although his fur isn't very fluffy.

He eats his food so very fast,
So fast, his food bowl goes
Clash, Clash, Clash!

When he goes to the vet,
He cries so hard.
When he finally stops,
We're already in the car.

My dog Charlie likes to play and run,
Especially when there is plenty of sun.

Despite what we paid for him, all of that debt.
Charlie is the cutest, greatest best-ever pet!

Gloomy Days
By Kyle Weston Taylor
Memorial School

I once had a goldfish we called Gloom.
We named her that because we thought she was doomed
To live a short life, like all the rest,
But we certainly did love her the best.

She lived a long four and a half years,
And oh-boy, were there tears,
When our goofy cat Cole,
Pushed her down a hole.

After Gloom was gone,
We buried her in the lawn,
I hope and pray, that maybe some day,
Another great fish will come my way.
