LionsBy Samantha CitroPine Brook School Steathily creeping to capture its prey, She pounces, she captures, she drags it away. And when all of the eating and hunting is done, This lioness is called the sensitive one. Prowling around by day or by night, This wondrous male lion is picking a fight. Protecting his home, protecting his young, Grooming his coat by using his tongue. Rolling around in dirt or in sand, Sniffing around the hot desert land. Jumping, growling, starting to fight, Two lion children are playing in the night. A whole lion family at work or at play, The parents hunting food each and every day. The mother is teaching her children to hunt, The children are teasing their cousin the runt. When all of the hunting and playing is done, The eating and sleeping, the battles all won. This lion family is like every other, With Father and Mother and Sister and Brother. © 1999-2005 New Jersey Association for Biomedical Research 1477 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ 07083 Ph: (908) 964-9449 Fax: (908) 964-9144 info@njabr.org |
